Jackson Park Hospital – Rotation Description

Teaching Faculty:

  • Chief of Service, Internal Medicine – Teaching faculty at hospital with residency program (Rosalind Franklin University affiliated)

  • Internal Medicine Attending Physician – Affiliated with the hospital and the affiliated university in Chicago

  • Family Medicine Attending Physician – Affiliated with the university hospital and serving as Program Director or faculty of the Family Medicine Residency Program

Rotation Schedule:

  • Hospital inpatient daily rounds (typically 9 AM – 1 PM, subject to change)

  • Students will attend clinics as and when notified

  • Students may be required to attend one to two weekend days (Saturday and/or Sunday) as notified

Important Notes:

  • Timings are subject to attending physician’s schedule

  • The final schedule will be communicated at the start of the rotation

Academic Activities, Clinical Exposure & Training

As part of the clinical team at both hospitals, students will:

This rotation provides a unique, hands-on clinical learning experience for medical graduates committed to becoming effective residents. It is specifically designed to prepare international medical graduates (IMGs) for the US clinical environment. Students function as clinical learners under the supervision of teaching attending physicians at two prestigious teaching hospitals.

At the end of the 4-week rotation, eligible students may request performance-based Letters of Recommendation from the respective attending physicians — one in Family Medicine and one in Internal Medicine.

Both LORs carry official faculty designations from teaching hospitals affiliated with Rosalind Franklin University and University of Chicago. LORs are based on performance, sincerity, and attendance.
