  • Hospital rounds daily in the morning with attending physicians.
  • Attending and staffing University Hospital clinics.
  • Attending grand rounds, lectures, and didactics.
  • Students will see patients in the ICU, Intermediate floor, and General wards.
  • If students are interested, they can do Saturday/Sunday hours as well.
  • Times are subject to change as per the attending’s schedule.

Rotating students will interact with:

  • Residents from the residency program in managing patients
  • Nurses to facilitate patient care
  • Other faculties and subspecialties in the overall care of the patient

  • Students may also be required to attend didactics, lectures, and grand rounds.

While participating as a member of the team, you will learn to:

  • Interact with diverse patients
  • Perform detailed history taking and physical examination
  • Check labs and notes on the patient
  • Formulate a differential diagnosis and an assessment and treatment plan for each patient under the attending physician’s supervision and guidance
  • Follow up on all patients under your care every day
  • Participate in discharge planning and execution

This is a unique learning experience for medical graduates who are committed to becoming effective, successful residents. This clinical initiative is designed to prepare foreign medical graduates (IMGs) for the US clinical environment by providing them with hands-on clinical experience. You will have the experience as a clinical learner under the supervision of a teaching attending physician.
  • Completion and Recommendation
At the end of your rotation, you may request a performance-based letter of recommendation on hospital letterhead. LOR is personalized for each student based on involvement, sincerity, and performance.

  • Letter of Recommendation

At the completion of the 4-week rotation, students may request a performance-based Letter of Recommendation (LOR) on official hospital letterhead.

LOR Type: Personalized LOR based on your involvement, sincerity, and performance. It will be on the hospital letterhead.

  • You can book your rotation before 2 months of rotation start date by paying $350 deposit which will be counted towards your total rotation fees. If cancelled, it is nonrefundable.
  • ⁠Full rotation fee payment is due 2 months before the rotation start date.
  • You can also pay the entire rotation fee at the start without putting a deposit down.
  • ⁠50% if the total fees paid will be refunded if rotation is canceled before 4 weeks of the start date.
  • No refunds after that (within 4 weeks of start date).
