  • Clinical Responsibilities

As part of the surgical team, students will:

  • Participate in daily inpatient rounds
  • Observe and assist in surgical procedures (when permitted)
  • Perform pre-operative patient assessments
  • Attend surgical outpatient clinics
  • Review patient charts, labs, and imaging
  • Participate in post-operative care and follow-up

This rotation provides a comprehensive hands-on surgical experience for medical graduates committed to becoming effective residents. It is designed to prepare international medical graduates (IMGs) for the US clinical environment through real surgical exposure under the supervision of two attending surgeons.

  • Letter of Recommendation

At the end of the 4-week rotation, students may request a performance-based Letter of Recommendation (LOR) on official hospital letterhead.

  • You can book your rotation before 2 months of rotation start date by paying $350 deposit which will be counted towards your total rotation fees. If cancelled, it is nonrefundable.
  • ⁠Full rotation fee payment is due 2 months before the rotation start date.
  • You can also pay the entire rotation fee at the start without putting a deposit down.
  • ⁠50% if the total fees paid will be refunded if rotation is canceled before 4 weeks of the start date.
  • No refunds after that (within 4 weeks of start date).

Surgical Assistance: Opportunity to assist in surgeries if permitted by attending.

Two Attendings: Benefit from mentorship by two staff surgeons.
