As part of the hospitalist team, students will:

  • Participate in daily inpatient rounds
  • Manage patients on general medicine floors and ICU
  • Interact with diverse patient populations
  • Perform detailed history taking and physical examinations
  • Review labs, imaging, and patient notes
  • Formulate differential diagnoses
  • Develop assessment and treatment plans under attending supervision
  • Follow up on assigned patients daily
  • Participate in discharge planning and execution
  • Learn ventilator management and critical care principles
  • Understand dialysis patient management
  • Recognize and manage severe acid-base disturbances

This rotation provides a comprehensive inpatient hospitalist experience with exposure to ICU and critical care. It is designed to prepare medical graduates, including international medical graduates (IMGs), for the US clinical environment under the supervision of hospitalist attendings.

At the end of the 4-week rotation, students may request a performance-based Letter of Recommendation (LOR) on official hospital letterhead.

  • You can book your rotation before 2 months of rotation start date by paying $350 deposit which will be counted towards your total rotation fees. If cancelled, it is nonrefundable.
  • ⁠Full rotation fee payment is due 2 months before the rotation start date.
  • You can also pay the entire rotation fee at the start without putting a deposit down.
  • ⁠50% if the total fees paid will be refunded if rotation is canceled before 4 weeks of the start date.
  • No refunds after that (within 4 weeks of start date).
