Inpatient and Hands-on (Hands on full active participation with Inpatient rounds & EMR @ Jackson Park Hospital X 2 weeks + Virtual rounding with physician @ St. Bernard Hospital X 2weeks). LOR will mention 4 weeks Hospital, In-patient rotation with Chairman of Cardiology.

Cardiology Rounds: Medical Floors, ICU, CCU daily – Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.(roughly). 4-5 students per batch.

Hospital Rotation: Inpatient and Hands-on (Hands on full active participation with Inpatient rounds & EMR @ Jackson Park Hospital X 2 weeks + Virtual rounding with physician @ St. Bernard Hospital X 2weeks). LOR will mention 4 weeks Hospital, In-patient rotation.

Weekend Option: Saturday/Sunday rounding available (not mandatory)

Outpatient Clinics: 1-2 times per week (approx. 4 hours each)

LOR Type: Personalized letter from the Chairman of Cardiology Department. Individualized LOR based on performance/sincerity & attendance.

Physician Affiliation: Head of Cardiology Department & Teaching Faculty at JPH Hospital Medical Centre & St. Bernard Hospital and Medical Centre

Cardiology Training: Cardiac and IM patients, EKG assessments, observe ECHOs and Stress Tests.

Residency Program: Yes at the Hospital in FP

FMG-Friendly: Yes, with residents and Fellows

Accommodation: $850 (double) – $1250 (single) – 2 locations one which is just just to the hospital and the other one is 10 to 15 minute walking distance from the hospital.

Chairman & Head of Cardiology Department: Teaching Faculty at JPH Hospital Medical Centre & St. Bernard Hospital and Medical Centre.

Affiliated Institutions: Rosalind Franklin University & Chicago Medical School affiliated Park Hospital (Jackson Park Hospital) + St. Bernard Hospital, Chicago, Illinois.

Students will be taking history and physicals on consulted cardiology patients and will do physical examinations, check the labs and EMR, form an Assessment & plan, and discuss with the Attending Physician. Subsequently, facilitate the treatment by discussing and getting out orders with the nurses on the floor.
Schedule & Flexibility Students can round on SAT/SUN with the attending physician if they choose to, but it is not mandatory. Times are subject to change as per the cardiology attending's schedule. Outpatient Hospital-based clinics 1-2 times a week for roughly 4 hours. Students may also be required to attend didactics, lectures, and grand rounds. The attending physicians will inform the students of the schedule at the beginning of the rotation. Teaching Sessions on Zoom will also be done by the Head of Cardiology. You will learn EKG assessments and observe ECHOs and STRESS TESTS as and when done.

While participating as a member of the team, you will learn to:

Interact with diverse patients
Perform detailed history taking and physical examination
Check labs and notes on the patient
Formulate a differential diagnosis and execute an Rx plan for each patient under the attending physician's supervision and guidance
Students will also participate in discharge planning and execution

This is a unique learning experience for medical graduates who are committed to becoming effective, successful residents. You will see an array of patients with various disorders and learn their Rx and Mx. The hospital and clinic initiatives are designed to prepare foreign medical graduates (IMGs) for the USCSE by providing them with hands-on clinical experience. You will learn the United States Health Care system under the supervision of a teaching attending physician.

At the end of your 4-week rotation, the rotating student may request a performance-based Letter of Recommendation (LOR) with Attending’s Faculty, designations.

You can book your rotation up to 2 months before the rotation start date by paying a $350 deposit, which will be counted towards your total rotation fees.
The $350 deposit will also get you the Visa letter if you need one. (If your visa is denied, the $350 is non-refundable). If booking is canceled for any reason, the $350 deposit is non-refundable.
⁠If the rotation you have booked becomes unavailable for some reason, we will try to give you a similar rotation.
Full rotation fee payment is due 2 months before the rotation start date.
⁠You can also pay the entire rotation fee at the start without putting a deposit down.
⁠50% of the total fees paid will be refunded if the rotation is canceled for any reason before 4 weeks of the start date.
⁠No refunds after that (within 4 weeks of the start date).
