- Clinical Responsibilities & Learning
As part of the clinical team, students will:
- Interact with diverse patient populations
- Take thorough medical histories
- Perform neurological and general physical examinations
- Review labs, imaging (MRI/CT), EEG/EMG reports, and clinical notes
- Formulate differential diagnoses
- Develop and execute treatment (Rx) and management (Mx) plans under supervision
- Follow up daily on assigned patients
- Participate in discharge planning and execution
- Work alongside Neurology residents, Internal Medicine residents, and Fellows
- Learning Experience Overview
This combined rotation provides a comprehensive nephrology clinical experience covering both inpatient and outpatient settings across two major university-affiliated hospitals (Rush University and Rosalind Franklin University).
Students will see a wide range of neurological disorders – stroke, seizures, headaches, movement disorders, neuropathy, sleep disorders, and more – learning their diagnosis, management, and treatment strategies.
The program is specifically designed to prepare international medical graduates (IMGs) for the US clinical environment (USCE) and the USMLE pathway.
Academic activities may include: Didactics, lectures, and Grand Rounds (schedule provided at rotation start).
- Letter of Recommendation
At the end of the 4-week rotation, eligible students may request performance-based Letters of Recommendation from the Chief of Neurology at each site.

- You can book your rotation before 2 months of rotation start date by paying $350 deposit which will be counted towards your total rotation fees. If cancelled, it is nonrefundable.
- Full rotation fee payment is due 2 months before the rotation start date.
- You can also pay the entire rotation fee at the start without putting a deposit down.
- 50% if the total fees paid will be refunded if rotation is canceled before 4 weeks of the start date.
- No refunds after that (within 4 weeks of start date).
