  • In-Patient Hospital Rounds
  • Daily inpatient rounds, Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • Students will also complete 2 Saturdays/Sundays per month.
  • Schedule may change depending on the attending physician.
  • Neurology & Diagnostic Lab Exposure

Students will rotate with the Chief of Neurology at the hospital and gain additional exposure to:

  • Sleep Lab
  • EMG (Electromyography) Lab
  • EEG (Electroencephalography) Lab
  • Outpatient Clinic Experience
  • Outpatient clinics held 1–2 times per week, approximately 4 hours each.
  • Attending physicians will provide schedules at the start of the rotation.
  • Interaction With Healthcare Teams
  • Neurology and Internal Medicine residents
  • Nursing staff
  • Attending physicians
  • Other faculty and subspecialty teams
  • These interactions help students understand coordinated patient care.
  • Academic Responsibilities

Students may be expected to attend: Didactic sessions, Lectures, Grand Rounds.

 
  • Clinical Skills Development
During the rotation, students will:
  • Communicate with diverse patient populations
  • Take thorough medical histories
  • Perform neurological and general physical examinations
  • Review labs, imaging, and clinical notes
  • Formulate differential diagnoses
  • Develop and execute treatment (Rx) and management (Mx) plans under supervision
  • Follow up daily on assigned patients
  • Participate in discharge planning and execution

This rotation provides a unique hands-on Neurology clinical experience for medical graduates committed to becoming effective residents. Students will see a wide range of neurological disorders and learn their diagnosis, management, and treatment.

The program is designed to prepare international medical graduates (IMGs) for the US clinical environment (USCSE) while learning the structure of the U.S. healthcare system.

  • Letter of Recommendation

At the completion of the 4-week rotation, students may request a performance-based Letter of Recommendation (LOR) on official hospital letterhead.

LOR Type: Hospital letterhead, Chairman. Individualized LOR will be based on performance/sincerity and attendance.

  • Payment & Refund Policy
  • You can book your rotation before 2 months of rotation start date by paying $350 deposit which will be counted towards your total rotation fees. If cancelled, it is nonrefundable.
  • ⁠Full rotation fee payment is due 2 months before the rotation start date.
  • You can also pay the entire rotation fee at the start without putting a deposit down.
  • ⁠50% if the total fees paid will be refunded if rotation is canceled before 4 weeks of the start date.
  • No refunds after that (within 4 weeks of start date).

Sleep Lab: Observe and learn about sleep disorder diagnostics.

EMG Lab: Hands-on exposure to electromyography procedures.

EEG Lab: Learn electroencephalography interpretation and application.

Chief of Neurology: Direct mentorship from the department chief.
